Criticize This! is a new feature I'm starting in order to post quick reviews of movies, games, books, music, etc. Eventually this will be a video post but until then you'll have to read.

MOVIE: Borat
I'm not a big fan of Da Ali G Show (never watched it until recently) but I thought I should see Borat after hearing how funny it was from EVERYONE I TALK TO. For the most part it is funny (and seeing it with an audience makes it even better), I just can't see myself ever watching it again. The character does get annoying and the media craze is a little much.

GAME: Dead Rising (XBOX 360)
A game about zombies in a mall that has nothing to do with the movie Dawn of the Dead (according to the disclaimer at least). Take photos (you're a photojournalist), kill zombies and save people are the main objectives. Killing zombies is the best part though as everything is a weapon (even hunks of meat from dead zombies). Addictive, fun and entertaining. Official site.

BOOK: Everything Bad is Good For You by Steven Johnson
A book about how pop-culture is actually making us smarter. Very interesting look at the history of television shows, the importance of video games in children's lives and how the Internet is challenging us. Amazon link.

DVD: Mission:Impossible III
After losing all credibility in his public life, M:I:III proves that Tom Cruise is still an action star. If you enjoyed the other two films in the series then this is definitely worth the rental. Phillip Seymour Hoffman is a very creepy bad guy and Maggie Q is a very sexy co-star. DVD is available as a 2-disc Collector's Edition and is also on HD-DVD.
